REFLECTORISING GLASS BEADS MOST 803.4.3
(Conforms to BS 6088 Class A & B)
     
The specification covers two types of Glass Beads to be used for the production of pavement markings.
 
  THERMOPLASTIC INTERMIX
   
Conforms to  the requirements of MOST – India and British Standard BS 6088 1987 – Class A. this is an intermix specification for the manufacturer of reflective thermoplastic road marking materials and is recommended for optimum reflectivity and durability.

  THERMOPLASTIC DROP – ON
 

 
Conforms to the requirements of MOST – India and British Standards BS 6088 1987 – Class B. These specifications are designed for surface application to road marking with thermoplastic material. A surface application rate of 300 – 400 gms per sqm is recommended for maximum reflectivity and durability.

Spherical beads – 70% minimum by mass.

Refractive index: The Glass Beads shall have a minimum refractive index of 1.50.

Free flowing properties: The Glass Beads shall be free of hard lumps and clusters and shall dispense readily under any conditions suitable for thermoplastic road marking. They shall pass the free flow test.
